Program Mission

We train competent, compassionate, and confident dental residents through rigorous education, mentorship, and hands-on clinical experience. In doing so, we provide Soldiers with high-quality dental care in an environment committed to excellence, professionalism, and customer-conscious service.

Our Residents Experience

Residents at the Fort Benning AEGD gain exposure to a broad scope of comprehensive dentistry through mentorship-driven, hands-on clinical training in a modern military healthcare environment.

Clinical experiences may include:

  • Comprehensive treatment planning

  • Dental emergencies and urgent care

  • Dental trauma management

  • Simple and advanced restorative dentistry

  • Advanced adhesive and bonding techniques

  • Digital dentistry and CEREC workflows

  • Fixed prosthodontics

  • Removable prosthodontics

  • Implant restoration workflows

  • Fixed orthodontic therapy

  • Clear aligner therapy

  • Orofacial pain evaluation and management

  • Periodontal surgery, including:

    • Crown lengthening

    • Guided Tissue Regeneration (GTR)

    • Guided Bone Regeneration (GBR)

    • Implant placement

  • Simple and surgical exodontia

  • Third molar surgery

  • Endodontic diagnosis and treatment

Residents progressively develop:
